We’ve been asked many times how MVP came to be. That day began as a new venture for us both personally and professionally, fueled by our excitement and determination to create our vision of being a leader in pension administration.
That day happened to be September 11, 2001. As the morning developed, we began hearing of the tragic news and events. As with many of our fellow Americans, our focus shifted from our new beginning to mourning.
“We’re open for business!” no longer seemed important. However, driven by our American spirit and pride, we were determined to move forward and not let a date be a reflection of who we are. We are MVP–Kelly Musico, Mark Vaughn, Michele Powell—and we believe your business is “most valuable” as we apply our combined expertise and emphasis on technology to help you along the road to retirement.
Our vision and commitment to continually lead the retirement plan administration industry has not faltered since the humble beginnings of Kelly’s basement, strategizing about marketing and passing the time between calls with UNO. As we grew our business and our new venture started to thrive, we began growing our team.
We have a few mementos in our office that serve as a reminder of our humble beginnings: an American Flag, a deck of UNO playing cards (which is now artwork), and a picture of our first assistants, Kelly’s cats Buddy, Bosco and Sissy, who “worked” alongside us in the basement.
Today, we are still passionate and driven to be the best, but now with a team of MVPers. What sets us aside from others is, not only our knowledge and experience, but our personal touch to ensure the highest level of quality. MVP takes every opportunity to learn and find improved ways to serve all our valued clients. Our purpose from the beginning remains true today: To devote our resources and retirement plan knowledge to help others.
